#1 Have an effective website

Yes, you have a website. But you need something that works. It should well-designed and show visitors exactly who you are and what your brand is about. Everything from your colors to your theme should work together. If you don’t have a theme that you love, consider trying out a Divi child theme. They are beautiful and easily customizable.

#2 Have a blog

If you don’t currently have a blog on your business site, you need one. A blog will help show off your industry expertise and help bring you traffic. It will also help you further distinguish your company’s brand by giving you a unique voice. And don’t worry, blogging doesn’t have to be done every day. You can blog as little as once a month and still reap the benefits.

#3 Guest post on other sites

I know, we just told you that you need to write blog posts of your own site, now we’re telling you that you need to write posts for other sites too. But hear us out. Guest blogging has become one of the best ways to get your name out there. By utilizing the blog, and the popularity, of another website, you can exponentially increase your exposure and your traffic. Target blogs and businesses that have a decent amount of traffic and online notoriety.

#4 Find Facebook groups

There are literally hundreds of Facebook groups to choose from, on every topic from blogging to parenting to business and more. No matter what industry you are in, there is the very good chance you will find a group for you. Do a search and find a couple groups where your target audience seems to be. By joining these groups, you can jump in on conversations and see what it is your audience is looking for. Start offering advice to really show off your industry expertise, and people will start to associate you and your business as an expert in your field.

#5 Do live streaming

Blab. Periscope. Facebook Live. Live streaming is extremely popular right now. Audiences want to see the people behind a business and they prefer doing business with companies that are relatable. Post some short, live broadcasts to show people your real selves.

#6 Host a webinar

Webinars, especially free webinars, have a huge draw. Pick a topic that your audience is truly interested in and promote your event on your website and social media. Your webinar should offer enough helpful information, but not give away everything. The goal of your webinar is to capture leads, and then inform your audience and motivate them to want to buy into what you’re offering for sale.

Now more than ever, you can’t just have a website to get ahead. You need to have a real online presence. Use these 6 ways to help you bring more exposure to your business, bringing you more traffic and more sales.

I totally agree with all of these. I tried Periscope once, then dialed back that effort while I went through a brand change.. I also hear good things about Blab. It was scary to put myself out there, but you’re right about it putting you on the map.

I haven’t looked into Blab. Mental note to myself to check it out. It is indeed important to get yourself out there. I’m learning just how important this. Otherwise you will fade into the background.
